Leadership Community

If you are actively serving at Heartland, please plan to be at Leadership Community tomorrow, Saturday, January 31st from 9-11am. 2009 is going to be a big year in the life of our church. Dan Deeble will cast a strong vision for the year by outlining all that needs to happen and what role you can play as a leader. Our hope is that you will leave equipped and recharged after a morning of connecting with God and other leaders. Haven't been to Leadership Community in the past, but interested in coming? Click here to contact Britton Gregory for more information. Need childcare? Click here to let us know if you will be there and if you need childcare.

Worship and Communion Next Wednesday

We want to invite you to our Worship and Communion service. Our Worship and Communion service is warm and relational and joyful. It is a perfect way to begin to "go deeper" in your journey with Jesus. Everyone from all areas of Heartland gathers once a month for Communion, passionate worship, and for a time of deep connection with God and with each other. At Worship and Communion, it's common to see small groups, friends and families taking communion together, praying together and worshipping together. We would love to see every one of you there Wednesday February 4 at 7:00 for Worship and Communion. Also, please note for families that Worship and Communion includes Children’s Great Adventure programming, infant through 5th grade. See you Wednesday at 7:00 at 8301 Lamar!

It is designed to help men come together and strengthen each other through weekly sessions that combine biblical teaching and small group interaction. It has been used successfully with thousands of men since its development in 1990 by Robert Lewis, pastor-at-large of Fellowship Bible Church in Little Rock, Arkansas. Click here to register online or click here to contact Rob Hole for more information. We look forward to what promises to be an exciting learning experience.

Every Man Friday

Men, Valentine's Day is coming up! We have the perfect gift you can give her. Why not impress her with learning a new language? Seriously! We're not talking about any language like French, or Italian... We mean learning to speak her "love language"! There is a difference! We do have to warn you... it could change your relationship forever!

According to Gary Chapman's book, there are actually 5 love languages. Do you know which one to speak to your spouse, children or significant other? Or are you just speaking Greek to her? Join us Friday, Feb. 6th at Every Man Friday. We will have a special guest couple, Rod and Colleen Annin, relationship coaches, who will present "The 5 Love Languages". We meet in the auditorium at 8301 Lamar. Coffee and donuts at 6:15, start at 6:30 am, and end at 7:30 sharp. If you haven't attended in the past, come check it out and be a part of the 100 plus men that take part in this event!

Classroom Volunteers Needed

Heartland Has Kids! We have lots and lots of kids at Heartland. We hope they all fall in love with Jesus but first we need to create a safe and fun environment so they can hear that Jesus loves them. To make it safe and fun we need adult and teen volunteers. Our highest need is for twice a month classroom volunteers. We could also use people who are willing to be a last minute phone call, even get pulled out of service, for those emergency situations when a volunteer doesn't make it to an assigned class. We will train you so you feel confident and competent. Thanks for considering how you can make a difference in the lives of kids and families by volunteering in Great Beginnings. Click here to contact Jennifer Giuseffi if interested.
