It’s about making Jesus first.

  1. Heartland’s mission is to make space for building relationships to make Jesus first.

If there’s one-word people use to describe their lives today, it’s “busy.” We’re all doing our best to keep up with our hectic, digital world. But our busyness isn’t just in our schedules; it’s also in our souls. It’s stealing life from us. But Jesus offers us a better way.

Making space means intentionally choosing how we live our lives so that we have space for what is most important. What’s most important? We think it’s pretty simple–Jesus. When we make him the center of every part of our lives, everything else falls into its rightful place, and we experience more of the life our hearts long for.

Over our history as a church, we’ve found that our most meaningful lives rely on meaningful relationships. We need people who support us, cheer us on, laugh with us, and challenge us. When we make space in our busy lives to build these kinds of relationships, we can better live for what matters most. That’s why Heartland exists–to help you make Jesus first.

We really don’t want anything from you. Instead, we have four specific desires for you.

Our beliefs shape our church’s teachings, culture and direction. And since we’re not into hidden agendas, it’s all right here.

Our Story

Back in 1986, a few dozen people gathered in the basement of a home in Overland Park to start a church for their friends who didn’t like church. A lot has changed over the years, but we’ve never stopped showing people what’s possible with Jesus.
